should I use Office 2003 (trial edition) or my existing Office 20.

My notebook running xp pro came with a trial edition of Office 2003. But I
already have a Pro edition of Office 2000. Which should I use. So far I have
chosen the 2000 Pro and have uninstalled the 2003. It seems to run ok. Are
there any compatibility issues? It seems to make sense to run our existing
Office Pro rather than have to pay for the 2003 which may not have as many
features.

tks for any advice

Access 2003 is more stable in development than 2000. It also has more
features. There should be no compatibility issues if you've done an
uninstall, or even if you have installed into different directories. Keep in
mind that the last version installed will be the one which is registered.

Your chief concern is really "Do I need it?" and that can only be answered
by you. Check out the new features at Microsoft's website and see if you
think they are worth paying for.

Hi.
Are
there any compatibility issues?

Even if you've uninstalled Office 2003, a nasty VBA DLL bug may come back to
haunt you. To prevent it, make sure that MS Office 2000 Service Packs 1, 2,
and 3 are installed on the computer. While you're at it, make sure that the
latest service packs on Jet 4.0 (SP-8) and MDAC (MDAC 2.8 SP-1) are
installed, too. For more information on the bug, please see the following

I agree. If the trial version isn't the "Pro" version, it doesn't have as
many applications and features as your 2K Pro version does, even if it has
more bells and whistles.

HTH.

tks for the replies. it looks like most people think im better sticking with
what i have. As a matter of fact I have Outlook 2003 on my Active Sync disc
that came with an ipaq. Should I install it over Office 2000 Pro? Any probs
putting Outlook 2003 over a previous version?
