Show/Hide Paragraph doesn't work

Using Win2k and Word 2000.
When I toggle my show/hide paragraphs, the paragraph marks
never go away. The tab and space marks work like they
should.
Anyone ever seen this problem before? Thanks.

Hi, jkasimir. Click on Tools | Options | View | uncheck the "Paragraph marks" box.
