Is it possible to get Project 2003 to show resource over allocation on a
gantt chart?

show the over-allocation amount. However, you can easily show that in
the Resource Graph view (along with other resource-orientated views).

Hi Gavin,
Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup
Not on the Gantt Chart. But you could use a split screen and open the
Resource Usage view in the bottom pane. Those resources overallocated will
appear in red.
