showing and hiding multiple calendars

I'd like to create a master/shared/public calendar with Outlook, but use
features like Google Calendar has introduced, where I can show and hide
events under different categories.

Is this a possibility in Outlook 2003? Or is there an add-on that could make
it happen? I'd prefer to keep this calendar in Outlook than export to Google.

I have, yet I need the calendar appointments to display in full month mode,
rather than the list. I could only get the views to work if I'm viewing each
entry as a long list of items. Someone recommended Google because it has
toggle buttons that allow you to turn categories on and off while viewing
them in the full month mode.
