showing rows with data only in a pivot in excel 2000

I have a pivot table which I cannot hide the empty cells. I have tried ticking the 'only show cells with data in' box, but it always shows the empty cells??. I have tried all the normal things, and Im sure I could do it in Excel 98.

Can anyone help, please????
