shows desktop, but projector just shows desktop theme only

My laptop monitor shows the powerpoint presentation slide, however my
projector only shows the desktop theme. It does not show the powerpoint
presentation slide. If I toggle so that the laptop monitor is blank, then
the projector shows the powerpoint presentation slide.

This is a feature of your laptop. It's toggling between displays. On mine
if you toggle a third time, it shows the presentation on both screens.

And if that doesn't help, turn off your Extended Desktop
