Shutting down Outlook

When my outlook2000 is closed, the little window saying
its is shutting down remains on the desktop. Starting a
new session is no problem. The little window appears in
the task list. Since I can kill all windows with the task
manager, it is only a nuisance. Who has the solution to
this?
