Signature two times

Every time I open a new mail based upon an .oft file I get two signatures in
my mail. One is in the .oft and one is the standard signature for new mails.
This behavior occurs since I installed Win XP SP2.

Neither I want to alter all my .oft files nor I want to set the standard
signature for new mails off.

Any ideas?

Hi Sue,

thanks for the answer. But I´m not quite sure I understand everything
explained in the design change and if the change is responsible for my
problem.

First I use Office XP with SP3, is the design change for this version valid
too?
I can´t find any of the described registry keys in my registry, of course
following the path under Office10.
I tried to open the *.oft file in the described manner via Extras-Tools...
but the same problem.
Is there any registy key to switch back to the old behavior?

Yes, the same design change applies to Outlook 2002 SP3; see http://www.outlookcode.com/d/ol2002problems.htm#sp3.

If a registry key doesn't exist, you can add it.

Hi Sue,

okay now I found the solution. The first time I was mislead to the false
knowledge base article (my fault). The answer for my problem is described in
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/842778/en-us

After installing the described fix and setting the registry key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Outlook\Options

Dword Value NoAutosigOnCustomForms = 1

my problem was solved. Thank you for your help.
