Every week I need to send 30 or 40 letters written in Word 2000. I also have
to sign them. My question is: can I scan my signature and then 'stamp' the
letters with it?
It wouldn't exactly qualify as a signature in the legal sense, and
would be insecure as hell, but you could put a picture of your
signature in the template you use for the letters.
A slightly better alternative would be if you have a signature pad and
some sort of electronic signature software for Word. You could put a
signature control in the template and sign the template, but don't
bind (or lock, or whatever your software calls it) that signature.
When you finish writing a letter based on the template, *then* you can
bind the signature, thereby preventing subsequent changes to the
letter. Just make sure the control is set to NOT show the date of the
signature. (Exactly how or whether this works will depend on the
electronic signature software.)
There's also electronic signature software available that will store
your signature and will 'rubber stamp' it onto documents. I'm not sure
if such software will work as a bulk processing command, though.
