simple question about Access

A

Aaron Kempf

'should be avoided'.. that doesn't mean that it IS YELLING

you please tell me how using CAPITAL LETTERS relates to the dictionary
definition for yelling.. Thanks

gosh.. I'll just change that silly wikipedia article when I get home, ok
dork?

B

Bill Mosca

You just don't get it, do you? I'm sorry I didn't explain it well enough to
you. Again you were probably reported as being abusive. Several of your past
posts have been down-right rude, whether truthful or not.

I doubt very much if you were banned because you spoke up agains MS. I've
spoken up against MS for years about some of the products they sell, but here
I am still posting whenever I feel the need to.

A

Aaron Kempf

BULL

You doubt that I was banned for speaking up against MS?

I WAS _FIRED_ for speaking up against SQL Server Authentication.

Don't you sit around telling me.. who is getting censored and who isn't.

MY POSTS HAVE BEEN CENSORED FOR YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS

And If _I_ have been rude?
That means that you should STFU and stop scaring people away from ADP

ADP won the war

performance, reliability, ease of development?

ADP, ADP, ADP

if you want to fight this war then bring it wuss..

but don't go about telling me where I'm allowed to speak

I HAVE NEVER SPOKEN ANYTHING BUT THE TRUTH

I'll speak how I want, where I want-- and when I want.

If you want to keep on 'oh i doubt you got censored' then you can-- i can't
stop you.
But I can reassure you-- that calling me a LIAR when I do nothnig but speak
the truth?

It's not a good idea.

A

Aaron Kempf

and for the record?

If Microsoft DID NOT censor, then I would be sitting here with A BIG FAT MVP
myself
and you'd be there, still in the 1st grade-- too slow to learn SQL Server

oh.. wait a second-- you are a MVP-- so you ARE stuck there in 1st grade,
unable to learn SQL Server

A

Aaron Kempf

again I was 'probably reported as being abusive'

a) who decides when I was being abusive?
b) how do I _KNOW_ I was being abusive if the omnipotent MSFT doesn't TELL
ME
c) how can I _CHALLENGE_ my censorship?

the real problem--

what you don't understand

-is that you think that Microsoft is 'good'
because yuo're a fat lazy retard and you drive around in your BMW and you
think that life is peachy because you can _CON_ customers out of $40/hour
for MDB development

the way _I_ see it?
is that MDB developers aren't worth $10/hour.

the way _I_ see it?
is that MVPs around here are a bunch of MDB _WIMPS_ and need to STFU about
stuff that they don't know about.

the way _I_ see it?
is that Microsoft rewards MDB developers so that they don't get pee'd off
about only making $10/hour.

when _YOU_ and your fat and lazy MVP script kids?
when you guys stop spreading _LIES_ about ADP?

when you guys-- who have the RESPECT of Microsoft-- when you guys start
taking ADP seriously is when I give a _CRAP_ what you say

until then??

you're not my boss; and you can go and play in the freeway

the _ONLY_ thing I _NEED_ from MS Access?
is the ability to report against Analysis Services

because it doesn't have that--- because Access is geared towards newbie
retards?

I'll just keep on selling people on Crystal Reports, ok?

Is that a good deal?

A

Aaron Kempf

I'm sorry

you actually think that you've 'spoken up against Microsoft'

please buddy-- please provide examples

Microsoft won't reward _ANYONE_ with a MVP who _EVER_ says anything that
isn't delusionally pro-microsoft

Microsoft _CENSORS_ intellect-- merely by giving MVPs to dorks that agree
with them

Microsoft _CENSORS_ mindshare-- just because they're too fat and lazy to fix
a handful of bugs in MS Access

A

Aaron Kempf

I haven't been rude

you guys just attack me constantly.. follow me around.. warning everyone
that I'm not a Microsoft Employee

I NEVER CLAIMED TO BE ONE KID

When you STFU and start talking respectful to me is when I'll stop jihad
When you STFU and start talking respectful about ADP is when I'll stop jihad

A

Aaron Kempf

and I think that _MVPS_ have been rude by

CONSTANTLY SPREADING MISINFORMATION ABOUT ADP

learn the FACTS

DAO hasn't been included with Office, MDAC or Windows for the past 10 years
I've provided Microsoft EXAMPLES that state that MDB is obsolete and it has
been for 10 years

MDB doesn't support simple things like SQL Server _PROFILER_

How many times have you gotten kicked out of bed at 3am in order to fix a
silly MDB frontend backend locking crap?

Seriously

Because for me-- ONCE was enough.. but I've been pulled out of bed AT LEAST
a half dozen times to come into work to diagnose _SOME_ random MDB locking
crap

ADP never has locknig problems
but even if it DID?

I could use the NOLOCK clause

B

Bill Mosca

OK Aaron. You win. You shouted the loudest.

I won't ever cast aspersions at you ever again (if I ever did to start with).

But just to let you know, I'm not just an Access MVP. I also have a real job
where I am the DBA for over 20 SQL Server databases. Not just making
ADPs...creating and administering SQLS databases with millions of records
each.

And I graduated from the 1st grade ever so long ago.

I want to know how or why Microsoft can block my
posts--

Post to a non-Microsoft server if you don't want Microsoft editing
your worthless posts off their server.

Of course, it looks to me like you already *are* posting to a
non-Microsoft mail server, so your assertion that MS is "censoring"
your posts is obviously without merit, as MS has not control over
any newservers but its own.

D

David W. Fenton

capital letters being consider yelling has been standard
netiquette for at least fifteen years.

Fifteen? It's been that way as long as Usenet has been around, and
that's been more like 25.

How many times have you gotten kicked out of bed at 3am in order
to fix a silly MDB frontend backend locking crap?

Exactly ZERO in 11 years of professional Access development work,
with nearly every app using a Jet back end.

Why?

Because I know how to write and administer a proper Access
application that doesn't have any corruption issues.

If you can't, that's because you're completely incompetent.

When in the same posting you tell me to STFU?

Many of your postings have been exceedingly rude.

Well, I was on Fidonet and BBSs starting in about 1990 or so so that's
about 17 years. Only got onto Usenet in 1995 or so when the
provincial telco started offering dial up access.

A

Aaron Kempf

dude David

LAY OFF KID

MS has been censoring my posts for years and years and years
long before I started swearing

I'm just not going to be quiet just because some MDB _WUSS_ at Microsoft
doesn't agree with my pro-ADP jihad

A

Aaron Kempf

oh yeah I believe you

if you knew SQL Server, you'd use ADP and help me show these MDB kids the
fallacy of using a POS database like MDB

A

Aaron Kempf

you're the one that follows me around and says 'rubbish' everywhere

and wait a second-- warn everyone that i'm not credible and i'm not a
Microsoft employee.. do it once more, come on kid

A

Aaron Kempf

then you should stop working on 5mb databases
I've supported hundreds upon hundreds of MDB

and I've always got a bad taste in my mouth afterwards

in general-- MDB is not reliable enough for real world use

I don't spend hours troubleshooting, I don't have to email my users; asking
them to get out of the database so I can bounce a file server

I participate in a newsgroup founded in 1985 in which a handful of
the original participants are still around on occasion. Some people
who post daily have been around since 1987 or so. I didn't start in
it until 1994.
