single line WORD cursor has changed shape

When I open up Microsoft Word to start a document,
The standard single line cursor has changed to a double - line
with a reversed P .
How do I get back the Standard Cursor ?

What you're seeing is a paragraph mark (¶); the cursor is still there. See
