Single Office Interface (SOI)

I have several changes I would like to see but here is one. I think the
interface needs needs to be revamp so that a user can seemlessly switch
between applications from one single interface. As an example--A user clicks
on the MS Office System icon activating the SOI. The user is presented the
startup program that they have chosen as the default but has the option of
clicking a button or menu item to switch between Word, Excel, or one of the
other installed office programs. When clicked, the standard office interface
(SOI) stays the same while the toolbars and assocated menus etc change to the
default for that particular program. The user should have the option of
setting any installed office program as the default program to open when the
SOI is activated. Thanks

I think you missed the point that the Desktop is the common interface
for switching applications.

You obviously failed to read my posting. The desktop is for switching
between many applications however, MS Office is a single suite (system) that
fails to provide a single interface. Your idea is a thing of the past--look
into what should and can be.

Sorry I did read it and you obviously fail to realize the "suite" is
only comprised of "individual applications" which can be sold separately
and installed separately and do not require other applications from the
"suite" to be available. The "suite" is merely a bundle of selected
office applications in a "box", and the mix is simply changed for the
various "editions". Your idea is merely adding another layer of code
replicating the function of the desktop, which merely bloats the install
and adding no useful function.
