When I am trying to type a list of items in single space, Word wants to double space. How can I change this setting so that everything is single spaced?
Thanks!!!

Microsoft enabled for the default Normal style. To get rid of it, click on
Format>Style, make sure "Normal" is selected in the list, then click on
Modify. Choose Paragraph from the dropdown button which reads Format, then
set the Spacing After to 0 pt. Click on OK, then check the box that reads
"Add to Template". Go back to your document and quit Word to force it to
save these changes. Any new document you now create should no longer have
this Space After setting.

I appreciate the reply -- believe me -- but I wonder why I had to spend 30 minutes hunting through a useless HELP file for the new Office 2008 for Mac just to find out how to create document with single spaced text. This is supposed to a word processor first; not a spaceship. Then I had to go online and search again.
Then your answer had to use 97 words. In previous Office/Word, I simply held
the command key and tapped numeral 1 and it was done. Have code writers gone
nuts? I shouldn't have to attend cooking school to learn about making a ham
sandwich.
One more rant, common to so much stuff now days. The print-out of your
valuable answer was in wimpy pastel gray. What happened to black text one
could read without illumination by an airliner landing light?
You have job security! Thanks for the help.
