Site Map of SharePoint site in Visio 2007

E

Eric

Visio 2007 has the Site Map template which can map and report on links of a
website. It seems to hang when pointing to a SharePoint 2007 site. Is there
a tip or trick to making it work against a SharePoint site?

As a sanity check, I pointed it against a standard asp site and it worked
fine.

Thanks!

Dear Eric,

From your description, I understand that it seems to hang when making a
Site Map in Visio 2007 and pointing to a SharePoint Server 2007 site. If
there has been any misunderstanding, please let me know.

Based on my test, it takes some time to generate a Web Site Map to a
SharePoint Server 2007 site in Visio 2007. I recommend we refer to the
following article and make a Site Map again:

Generate a Web site map
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/visio/HP012091121033.aspx?pid=CH1009856610
33

If it still freezes when pointing to the SharePoint Server 2007 site,
please change to another site which has less web content like links and
check whether the process still hangs or not.

Please also check whether the issue occurs with all SharePoint Server 2007
sites or not and help me to capture a screenshot of the problematic
SharePoint site:

a. Press the Print Screen key (PrtScn) on your keyboard.
b. Click the 'Start' menu.
c. Type 'mspaint' in the Run box and Press Enter.
d. In the Paint program, click the 'Edit' menu, click 'Paste', click the
'File' menu, and click 'Save'.
e. The 'Save As' dialogue box will appear. Type a file name in the 'File
name:' box, for example: 'screenshot'.
f. Make sure 'JPEG (*.JPG;*.JPEG;*.JPE;*.JFIF)' is selected in the 'Save as
type' box, click "Desktop" on the left pane and then click 'Save'.

Please send this saved JPEG file to my email account at
(e-mail address removed) with 43767330 in the subject.

Have a nice day.

Regards,

Steven Du
