If you download a file from a non-Microsoft site, I heartily recommend that you scan it first for viruses or other malware. Besides the fact that hosting microsoft files on a non-authorized server is against the EULA, it is always a crapshoot as to what you actually end up with.

After furious head scratching, davy asked:

| Have a peep here -:
| 'When you try to start a Microsoft Office 2003 program for the first
| time, you receive the \"Installation Error: File not Found\" error
| message' (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896866)
|
| Here is a possible source for the cab file-:
| 'Fix Errors Instantly'
|
| A Google for 'SKu011.cab' should also bring some result's

Milly Staples didn't say if this file IS available directly from MS...
it ought to be?

No matter what you download these day's you just can not trust
anyone... unless of course you know the site that you are visiting.

Well I appreciate your help davy but I was looking for a free way to fix it

Thanks Beth..
I give up, I too thought they were free....Milly was not much help,
about as useful as a chocolate fireguard..!

You MVPs should have been able to help out, instead of playing mummy
and daddy telling us to beware of bogus sites.

Unfortunately, the underlying problem is you need your Office installation
CD and we can't help you with that. :-(

I do think the warning is justified. While there may be web sites that have
the .cab file available, you never know if you are also installing something
else along with the .cab file. When you encounter this type of need it's
pretty easy to overlook this possibility (Not trying to play mum or dad -
there are a lot of folks out there who don't realize this is a
possibility...)

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email can not be acknowledged.

Google for *SKu011.cab* will bring result's, there that wasn't too
difficult.
