SKU111.CAB missing when attempting to install Office 2003 ServicePack 1?

S

THERE IS 2 POSSIBLE ANSWERS TO THIS ISSUE:

1) The SKU111.CAB file is actualy located within another CAB file
which is w
hy it can't be located when searching for in on the original Office
2003 CD.

The Office 2003 CD will copy files to your local HD during
installation (if
HD space permits) these files come from decompressing CAB files. Some
of these CAB files contain other CAB files within. Finaly the setup
will run a clean up in the final steps of the installation.

This file was most likely deleted as part of the post setup routine.

If you attempt to run a search of the office CD the search WILL NOT
look within the CAB files. So there is a possibilty that it is on that
CD but I'm not decompressing every CAB file to look for it...

2) This file is not on the MS Office 2003 CD at all. Microsofts Office
Suite
of applications covers many more application than what you get on any
of th
e MS Office CD's. So for instance if you have installed "One Note",
"Front P
age", "Visio", "MapPoint"..ect which are all part of "MS Office" this
file may be on one of those CD's
..

When you go to office update and attempt to install SP1 it may be
looking for SKU111.CAB file from the "Front Page" CD.

What installation CD contains the SKU111.CAB is anyones quess and I
hope tha
t if someone finds it they will reply to this post and put and end to
this m
adness..

OK I FOUND THE FILE!!!

I have 2 MS Office 2003 CD's. Both directly from Microsoft.

1st CD I received from them was at a trade show when they were demoing
MS Office 2003, the Microsoft Rep told me that the CD included One
Note or Business Contact Manager (which one I can remember). When I
installed the application it did not include the application that he
said was on the CD.

A little maddened by this I called Microsft to b*tch. The Rep send me
a second CD that actualy contained the application I was looking for.

The first CD I received was the one that included the SKU111.CAB file.
The second CD they sent me DID NOT.

Here is the information that is printed on the on the center circle
located on the back of the CD (I was told this was version
information)

1st CD with SKU111.CAB - X09-48750 (RN.M5) 02
2nd CD without SKU111 - X09-90621 (MM01) 03

It would appear to me that for some reason Microsoft did not include
SKU111.CAB or renamed the file in later versions of it's MS Office
2003 CD.

Hope this helps!
