Slide color scheme changes between 2007 and 2003?

A template that is build for PPT-2003 and is used with PPT2003 and PPT2007
seems not to keep it's original slide color scheme?
Is this a bug? Or how to set the scheme to retain it's colors?

There's a bug or two in the way colors map from older files to newer. You're
really better off building a template for each version rather than trying to
use one template for both.
