Slide Master Style Edits Do Not Work

I have edited the text parameters (font, size, bullets, spacing) in the
Standard PowerPoint Template Slide Master. All look OK in Slide Master view
(proliferated across the layouts). When I open a new slide in Normal view,
Level 1 seems OK, but after pressing Enter, and then pressing Tab, I only get
tabs, not style level navigation. What am I missing to make the slide master
text formatting edits work?In a posting on 2/20 &21/2006, Steve Rindsberg
noted that you can get the formatted, tabbed levels to work by using AltShift
+ Rightarrow (Leftarrow). This still works.
However, is there a magic parameter I can set to make these formatted
changes work just by pressing Enter and then the Tab key? I am making these
changes mainly for a group of "casual users" of PPT, not Power Users.

Thank you so much for quick replies. Yes, no bullet. Thank you for the
link to the other post string. And it seems that each level must be bulleted
to enable the tabbing functionality for those levels. This would seem to be
a candidate for future Help updates.

Now I just need to explain to my boss why it took 20+ hours of digging
before throwing up my hands and posting my question.

might give you some ideas.

An alternative to Alt+Shift+Arrow is to use the Decrease List Level and
Increase List Level icons on the Paragraph group on the Home tab.

Definitely frustrating that Tab doesn't work, though.

Good point. I'll ping the Help folks. Sorry I can't help with the
explanation!
