Slide Master - Title Area

I have created a slide master but deleted the default title area and subtitle
areas. I then went to the Master Layout menu and selected Title and Text to
add them back. They show up in the Master View, but when I close the Master
View, I don't see the placeholder to add a title or text. How can I get
these placeholders to show up when not in Master View?

Have you chosen a layout that includes them. Normally that's only the title
slide layout.

You might try reapplying the layout. That will bring the placeholders back
to a slide where they have been deleted.
