Hi,

In PowerPoint 2002 or 2003, drop the little down arrow and select "Apply to
selected slides".

What Glen said. Just to add on,
In PowerPoint 2002/XP and above,
After creating multiple masters, close master view.
Click Format > Slide Design.
Select the slide/s that you want to apply different master.
Under Slide Design task pane, hover over the master that you have added,
which is under "Used in This Presentation" section. Then, follow what Glen
said.
