Slide number is beginning at 11?

HI. Have a presentation. I chose to insert slide numbers
except on 1st page. But it starts on first page anyhow
with number 11 and each page gets 10 added to it (21, 31,
41). Meanwhile they are all consecutive.
I for the life of me, cannot figure out how to reset it.

Go to View > Master > Slide Master. Check the content of placeholder and the
bottom labelled "Number Area. Does it contain <#1> or <#>? If it contains
<#1>, delete the 1 and see if that helps.

By the way, the setting you referred to is "Don't show on title slide" (not
first slide). If you didn't use the Title Slide layout for your first slide
then that setting doesn't apply.

Thank you. It did have the '#1' in there. I removed the
one and it works fine now.
