Slide pause, using animation

I know that you can adjust the length of transition time for a slide, such as extrance fade in for 5 seconds and the same for the exit, but what if you want the slide to remain there for say 5 seconds, how do you set that? The "timing" option seems to just delay it, doesn't affect the slide once it has appeared. In the PC version, there is an "advanced timeline" option. What is the Mac version of that option?

Thank you for your response.

Do you have actual Slide Timings set on the slides? The settings you're
referring to only appear to be those which pertain to the Animation Effects
themselves. Set the Slide Timing to something ~5 seconds longer than the
total time for the animations.
