Slide transition

How do I get my slide transitions to look more like a slide projector? In other words, how do I get slides to fade in and out of each other or fade in and out without seeing little boxes (finer resolution?)

If you want the look of a slide projector, dont use a
transition. Slide projectors dont make transitions.In
other words you will cut from one slide to the other.
If on the other hand you want a fade then use fade through
black or dissolve,

Use the menu as: Slide show > Transitions > select the
transition from drop down list

And if you use Fade thru Black and begin to experience performance or
display problems, you'll know that it's due to the transition. Fade thru
Black is the one transition that is known to cause such problems.
