Slide transitions

How to set up different transitions for the title and the body? For example,
the title drops form the top, then the contents transition as per the user
settings (wipe, etc.)

Right-click on the frame of the text box and chose Custom Animation. There
you can do whatever you want to each object on the page.

You did not mention the Powerpoint version so this is guess work. If you use
Powerpoint 2002/2003 then select your title, activate the taskpane Custom
Animation, choose add effect and choose an entrance effect. For the rest of
