Slides freeze with added music

I am running powerpoint 2002 and have a little over 100 slides of photos. I
am playing 5 different songs at various points in the presentation. All
slides are timed at 7 second intervals. For some reason the other songs are
not affecting the transition of slides, but this one song seems to be causing
problems and I can't figure out why? However, if I press the space bar or
the right arrow, the presentation continues. I really think it has something
to do with ppt 2002, but am looking for any suggestions.

Did you add any animations to the photos?
If you did, the animation is probably set to "On click".
Go to the slide that is causing the problem.
Click Slide Show > Custom Animation.
See if there is any effect with Start as "On click".
If there is, set it to "After Previous".

If it still doesn't work:
did you insert the sound using Insert > Movies and Sounds > Sound from file?
If so, under custom animation panel, right click on the play effect, select
Effect Options.
Under Start Playing, select "From last position".
Click OK and see if it works now.

The timing I have isn't set to "On click", I have it set to start "after
previous". In the effect, I have it set to start "From time: 20 seconds" as
that is where I want the song to begin. Then I have it set to stop after 13
slides, where another song begins. Changing the start to "From last
position" does solve the the problem, but the song starts at the beginning of
the song, which isn't where I want the song to begin.

A possible workaround is to set the effect added to the photo to start "With
Previous". If it still doesn't work, please send me a copy to

Replace [at] with @, [dot] with.
