Slides presented in random order?

Vida Shaver

Can I set up a slideshow to present the slides in a random
order?
We are having a company function and want a slide show
running that basically "picks names out of a hat" for the
door prizes.
Help with this question or any other creative ideas are
welcome! Thanks. Vida

Thanks for your suggestions. Speaking of low-tech ... I
believe we are going to have the DJ draw names from a fish
bowl!!!

Your site is amazing! And the little program works great.
We may use the powerpoint solution after all. I left some
comments on your site as well.

Thanks for your help.

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello,

PowerPoint does not have the ability to allow you to choose to display all
(or subset of slides) in a random order, without having to resort to VBA or
add-ins (which means that the solution would not work with the PowerPoint
Viewer).

If you (or anyone else reading this message) feel strongly that PowerPoint
should have this kind of feature, don't forget to send your feedback (in
YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
