Slideshow loop

I would like to run a slideshow loop on a projector while I am pulling up
other programs and discussing them on my laptop. My current problem is that I
extend my desktop onto the "2nd monitor" and play the slideshow in the 2nd
monitor (projector) but when I click onto another program on my laptop
screen, the slideshow pauses until it is clicked again. Is there any way for
it to continue looping?

yes, there is.
On "slide show" menu select "Set Up Show" option.
There, you'll find option calles "Loop continously untill ESC". Select that
option and you're done!

PowerPoint only runs when it has the focus of your computer. When you start
to do something else on your computer, PowerPoint loses focus and stops
running. In order to run the presentation and do other work, you either need
two computers or an add-in like PowerShow:
