Slooowww...Outlook 2003 on XP

R

Ricky

Hi-

I read all the threads, but still no luck. My Outlook 2000 was slow, so I
upgraded to 2003 hoping it would take care of issue.

It takes up to 10 secs to open e-mail, navigate menues, folders, etc.

Details:
- outlook 2003
- win xp pro
- plenty of memory
- non-exchange> pst is 1gb > i made a new pst and copied all old stuff
thinking pst is corrupt

I tried:
- disabling link to IM
- disabling text/speech
- archived alot of junk

It works fine when I'm in "safe" mode though- it's really fast.

Any idea/suggestions? this is killing me!

Do have any addins installed? See Tools -> Options -> Other -> Advanced
Options, and look at the Add-In Manager and COM Add-Ins buttons. You may
have installed something else that hooks into Outlook and is slowing it
down.

Jeff-

Good pointer. I turned them off- had google, pgp, and plaxo. Removed plaxo
completely.

Another co-worker has similar issue after ugprading. All the SP are applied
etc.

Can't seem to find a fix anywhere...

thx

So turning them all off did not improve the speed? What sort of mail
account(s) do you have?
