Slow form calculation in Access 2007 using Vista vs XP

I have a Access 2007 database that I use to run my service business.
I built it in Access 97 back in 1997.
I converted it to Access 2000 in 2001.
I have used Office 2000 until a few weeks ago when I got Office 2007.
I converted the .mdb to a .accdb on my XP Home machine.
This is a Dell Inspiron 6000 with a mobile centrino processor and 2 GB
ram.
I have noticed that text boxes on forms that perform complex
calculations are just a blink of an eye slower.
I'm talking expressions that use DSum or DLookup.
I don't feel that the expressions themselves or the database needs to
be examined because it works fast on Access 2007 and the XP Home OS.

Here's the problem:

I decided to upgrade computers and got a Dell Inspiron 1520 with Core
2 Duo and 2 GB ram.
This machine also has Vista Home as the OS.

Some text boxes with expressions that took a blink of an eye now take
30 seconds.

I have spent days and lost so much productivity trying to improve the
database so it will work better with Vista.
I was unsuccessful.

I am currently still using the older XP machine. The new machine is
sitting.

I thought moving to a new computer with the new OS would improve
things. I seem to be wrong.
I feel tlike I should approach Dell for a copy of XP and load that
instead but I am frustrated because i've already sunk so much time
into this problem.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks for anyone's input.
