Slow load of documents in office 2007

Hi there
I have upgraded my office from office2000 to office2007. When I open a
document from "My computer" on the desktop in Word or a spreadsheet in Excel
it takes about 60 seconds before it is shown. If I open a document directly
from the program it is shown immediately.
What can be wrong?

Any luck with this Amanda? The post is getting old, but this issue is still
ongoing, even after the recent service pack.
