*SLOW* Outlook 2003 when screen shots in body of email

It takes forever for an email to open up when someone sends me a
graphic that is embedded in a email, not as an attachment. Usually a
screen shot or a pasted image, or something like that. I switched to
Office 2007 just to get past this problem but hate the Word 2007
interface. I am desperate for a solution.
