Slow Printing of Notes Pages

I running WinXP & using Adobe Acrobat Standard 9 w/ PowerPoint 2007. When I
go to Adobe print to create a pdf file of the "Notes Pages" it is taking up
to 30 minutes to print a 96 slide (1590KB) presentation. I just recently
switched to 2007 from 2003. Wasn't having this problem with PP2003. If I
Adobe print to create a pdf of the slides the printing speed is fine.

Hey Halo,

Has the presentation been bouncing back and forth between 2007 and 2003
versions of PowerPoint? If so then there may be many layers created by
empty text frames on the notes page. This seems to be caused by the
difference in the way that 2007 handles placeholders.

It could also be the print driver you have selected to run the printer from.
Check the manufacturer's website for updates (even the newest printer
usually has a better driver available on-line).

What I am seeing holds true for printing to any printer, as well as adobe
PDF. By pausing the printer you can look at the difference in how large the
print job is when printing the notes view vs the slide view. Included in my
testing, a 10-page presentation produces a 17MB print job from the slides,
and a 213MB print job from the notes.
