SLOW RESPONSE WHEN OPENING ACCESS 2000 TABLE

Please help I am experiencing a long delay when opening my
Access 2000 tables. What can I do to eliminate this
problem?

Is the database split with the back end on the network, or is the whole
thing local to your machine? Are you opening using a form? Based on the
table or a query? Indexes? Where clause? Is this new? What changed?
