Slow to complete tasks & changes

Danijde

I made the switch to Office 07 & love all the features, but I just started
really working in it today & it seems like everything that I do takes
ridiculously long to do. Whether I am changing a font, adding a table, or
sizing cells in Word/Excel it goes SO slow. It goes into the "Not
Responding" mode for 5-15 seconds & I just have to wait for it to catch up.

I was hoping someone else might be experiencing this, or have some advice on
what I can do to resolve the issue. So far it has obviously been a VERY
costly conversion since my time to complete a task is WAY up!

Thanks in advance for any help

Are you using Windows Desktop Search on this machine? Did you allow it to completely index your computer (ridiculous as it sounds, it can take a few hours to complete and your computer runs dog slow in the meantime)?

I feel kinda dumb but I'm really not that computer literate. Can you clarify
a little for me? How would I find out if I were running Windows Desktop
Search? Is that something I would have needed to start, cause I don't
remember doing that. If it's an automatic thing though, I suppose it's
possible.

It would be automatic and you can see the icon in the notification tray if you look for a magnifying glass icon.
