slowloading

WORD 2002
Whenever i click on the word icon, the program takes at
least 3o seconds to load up, what's wrong? it's slow to
function as well until at least another 10 seconds.

My pc has windows xp home edition, 512MB ram pentium 3
processor 550MHZ, 10GB HDD just 3GB used-please help
