Hi,
Where can I learn more about Smart Tags and their
interaction between Word and Exchange/Active
Directory/other databases?

If I type a name, I can click on the tag and find the
address.

I'd start with the msdn website (the SmartTag SDK). And ask
in the office.developer.smarttags newsgroup.
