I am interested in a mobile graphics solution that complex animations in MS
PowerPoint will take advantage of. I recently bought a brand new HP dv9000t
Core 2 Duo, maxed out (2GB) RAM and the nVidia GeForce Go 7600, 512MB of
video RAM. The performance was not much better than my 3 year old ATI card
with 64MB RAM. HPs tech support did not have an explanation. No other apps
running. All drivers up to date. "Use hardware acceleration" is checked in
PPT. This unit should be able to handle just about anything you could throw
at it, but in some cases animations hesitate. The new PPT beta was no better.
Why doesn't PowerPoint utilize the GPU's capabilities? Are there GPUs that
handle PowerPoint better or am I just expecting too much?
