Microsoft has recently added an unsupported plugin which allows Outlook 2003
users to send messages using an SMS Server. It is nice because it
automatically counts the number of characters typed in to the message which
is useful if you are billed by 160 character increments (the application
default limit). My problem is that no matter how I format the cellphone
number I receive a format error. Does anyone know what format to use?
Thanks.

As a follow-up, I was able to transmit a test message but it was returned to
me with an SMS error report stating that the message could not be delivered
to the cellphone number and named recipient I sent it to. When I originally
addressed it, attempting various formats I received a PDU (protocol
description unit) error but I changed the format and added the recipients
name from my address book. It accepted this new format but the message, as
mentioned above, was returned with the SMS report. I hope this helps you with
a possible suggestion as to how to correct the "To"format when sending SMS
messages from the new plugin for Outlook 2003.
