Are you a paid Hotmail subscriber? If so then the information you need is
available in the Hotmail site as I recall but I haven't used the service in
years so it may have changed but I doubt it a great deal. If you're not a
paid Hotmail subscriber then Hotmail doesn't work with Outlook.

"In solving a problem of this sort, the grand thing is to be able to reason
backwards. That is a very useful accomplishment, and a
very easy one, but people do not practise it much. In the every-day affairs
of life it is more useful to reason forwards, and so
the other comes to be neglected. There are fifty who can reason
synthetically for one who can reason analytically." - Sherlock

Well, would that be for a freebie or paid (Plus) Hotmail account? If a
paid Hotmail account, is it the old MSN Hotmail or new Windows Live
Hotmail account? Microsoft re-added POP/SMTP host access back in
November 2007 to Windows Live Hotmail Plus (paid) accounts but not for
MSN Premium Hotmail (paid) accounts. If you are using a paid account,
go read their online web help pages.

If you are using a freebie account, go to Microsoft's download site and
get their Outlook Connector add-on. No version of Outlook or Outlook
Express supports the new HTTP/Deltasync protocol that Microsoft switched
(and away from the old HTTP/WebDAV protocol that Outlook and OE
understand). For Outlook 2003 & 2007, the add-on will add support for
Deltasync to Outlook. No cure for Outlook Express itself other than
replacing it with Windows Live Mail.
