Snap to grid to insert picture in Word?

I need to prepare photo pages for a book. I need to insert pictures of
different sizes into a snap to grid so that the pictures will be more uniform
in size while retaining photo ratio. Is my thinking correct or do I need to
use another method to do this? I have tried using the Draw toolbar and
clicked Snap To but this did not work. Perhaps I am not clicking the correct
choices. Help is appreciated.

Hi =?Utf-8?B?R3Jhbm55?=,

Snap to grid is only for positioning; it shouldn't affect sizing.

Try using the "Insert frame" tool in the FORMS toolbar. Format the frame to have
an exact width (or height, whichever is the more critical dimension for you).
Now position the cursor in the frame and Insert/Picture/From file. Does this do
what you're looking for?

If yes, you select the frame and save it as an AutoText or AutoCorrect entry. Or
you can even define a paragraph style including the frame. Insert it as
required.
