Software Based on Access

I have a customer running a software application specific to their business
which runs along side Microsoft Access (the database for the parogram is in
..mdb format and ever since installing the SP-2 it would kick you out of the
program completely when you are using the Tab and down arrow key on the
keyboard in certian area's of the program.

I have contacted the vendor who made the program and was told they do not
support it anymore but gave me a file to run nevertheless which appears to
update the .dlls but that hasn't fix it and he has no idea why, one
suggested idea from him is to remove SP-2.

What version of Access?

What SP-2 to what software?

Access 2003
XP SP-2 to a software program called HirePlus

OK

Sounds like the application is written in something other
than Access and is using the Jet engine (which Access uses
also) to store it's data.

I very much doubt that Access itself is affecting the
workings of this program.

Updates to Jet could be and IIRC XP-SP2 can apply an update
to Jet if necessary. I certainly wouldn't want to deinstall
SP2 to fix that unless there was no other choice.

Can you find out what version of Jet this program is
supposed to work with? A2000 to A2003 use Jet4.

I've never attempted to roll back a Jet SP, I think you
might have to deinstall Access then re-install it though
there's no gauruntee that that will also remove Jet and
replace it.

I suggest you also search the MS knowledgebase for info on
Jet service packs, updates and so on.

It was working on A97 but after install A2003 I converted the database to
this format and all has been ok until the SP-2 upgrade, I don't know what
version of Jet it is using, do you think a update of Jet4 will fix it? and
where would I download this from?

Thanks
