SOLVED: Can't send large emails or attachments

P

Patrick

I wasn't able to send large emails or emails with attachments. Kept getting
a smtp time out error.

Spent a week trying everything under the sun to resolve to no avail.

Ended up being compatability issue between a Wireless "G" NIC and a Wireless
"B" access point.

Connected the problem PC directly to the router... and voila...problem
solved. On top of that... I now have 100 MB/sec as opposed to 11 MB/sec
wireless.

Thanks Neo for all your suggestions. There would have been no way for you
to know about the differences in NIC VS router. It was a last resort
brainstorm I had just today.

YOu will want to install some sort of software firewall as connecting
directly to the Modem (and therefore the Internet) is a quick way for you to
be compromised. ZoneAlarm personal is a good free product but I would
spend the $$ and get the pro version.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head scratching, Patrick asked:
