Some files hidden on one computer

I have FrontPage 2000 running on 3 stations - 2 win98 and
1 winXP. We just moved one entire site from a MS server to
Unix, Apache with FrontPage Extensions enabled. Everything
works fine in browsers and all files are visible on the XP
FP unit and 1 win98. All files - including hidden - are
visible on all units using any ftp program and competitor
DW (which has not been used to program them - just a test
look.) Although we've switched the DNS to the new server,
FP still works perfectly on all 3 units on the copy left
on the old server when accessed thru the dedicated IP.

But on one 98 unit, some files in only some normal folders
are invisible. Extensions are common html, htm, jpg, gif.
Subfolders in those main folders are all visible (and
subfolders contain all files) but all other files in those
selected main folders are invisible. If one clicks a link
with ctrl - it says the page is not in the web. But if I
switch to preview and click the link, the linked page show
perfectly with all (also invisible) graphic files perfect.

I've both re ftp'd and republished the missing ones
several times - same result. All permissions are correct.
I've run detect & repair for my FP 2000, and view hidden
files is on,

- what am I missing?

Thanks
