Some items dissapearing on shared calendar

It appears that "some" users are missing recurring calendar events that have
been in place over the course of this year. however when Outlook is restarted
the calendar events re-appear. I am uncertain as to when exactly the events
are going awry at the moment but i suspect that they are going on system
shutdown. We are running Office 2003 and the version numbers for office are
not exactly the same on the systems that are affected. There are no filters
on the views as all are running on default. Any ideas greatly appreciated.
