Some "licensing" question about Office 2007

Mitja

I've successfully installed Office 2007 on my personal computer, and I'm so
impressed that I want to install to my computer at work, but since I do not
want to break any license I have some questions:

1. Can be Office 2007 installed on multiple computers, or do I have to
download a new copy of Office 2007 for each computer?

2. Can I use my company passport on my computer to download a copy of Office
and then install it on my company's computer? I would like to download Office
at home since my internet connection is much faster and then install this
second copy on my company's computer.

Thanks.

The Office 2007 beta testing release is not appropriate for production use.
Many organizations have policies prohibiting unauthorized software
installation on company-owned computers. Make sure you check with
your IT department before downloading and installing 2007 Microsoft
Office system Beta 2 on your computer at work.

Best advice: Do not install it on a company-owned computer!

Thanks for your quick reply. I'm aware that beta testing releases are not
appropriate for production use. However, the company is in process of
updating its software, inlcuding office productivity software and the
computer where Office 2007 would be installed is not a mission critical
machine. It is a computer used for testing and not even part of the company
network. I have the premission to install whatever software I want to company
computers.

So my questions are:

1. Can be Office 2007 installed on multiple computers?

2. Would there be something wrong if I would download a second copy of
Office 2007 from my home computer using my company passport account (which
I'm entitled to do) burn it on a CD and then install it on company's PC?

Thanks again

You can order a CD from Microsoft.

Why spend 10€+value added tax+custom costs, when I can downladed it at home
for 0€ in 30 minutes. I'm not from USA and have some bad experiences about
ordering. I just want to know if it OK to downlad Office 2007 from home
computer using company passport (which I'm entitled to do), burn it on CD and
install it at work on company CD. I don't want my behaviour to be considered
as "warezing" or "leaking" since the Office would be downladed to my home
computer but installed on company computer.

Thanks. I also read the EULA where it clarly states that:

• You may install and use one copy of the software on your premises to test
how it runs with your programs.

• You may not test the software in a live operating environment unless
Microsoft permits you to do so under another agreement.

Can anyone explain me what is "live operating environment". I look up in all
dictionaries I have, but still don't know the meaning?

Thanks.

A live environment: an office, a company, a factory... a place the uses
computers to do work.

You can install use and install one copy of the software on your premises to
test how it runs with your programs ( on a 'test machine' ). It's on a
machine that is not used by worker to produce things, but test software.

For simplicity, perhaps on a computer in the IT department,or in a spare
cubicle.

'Betty the secratary' should not be typing memos and sending e-mail with
Word and Outlook, 'Frank in accounting' should not be doing the books with
Excel, and 'Bob in advertising' should not be preparing his next sales pitch
in PowerPoint.
