some nagging issues in project server

1. In environmnet where you have long term projects and short term projects
setup nicely well planned ahead.... and every 2-3 day you get some non
planned urgent project to finish in a day or two, which push and messs up
your existing planned project and many of the time not able to adjust the
resource assignmens and projects tends to mess up... how can i accomodate or
easily push back existing planned projects when i get this kind of 1-2 day
urgent project in between.

2. Also in existing planned project if something breaks and i wants resource
to move to next task how can i fix that easily in project....

3. Also i wants to see every project plan and what is schedueld for when in
project so that i dont overallocate any resource in short like a master
project, but when i add projects in master project then try to edit save many
of the time my project dont check in and goes in limbo... then i have to hard
reset in database how can i prevent this from happennning.

4. since Outlook integration works good but the form does not show the notes
that project managet has placed in notes body of task ... i have enabled PWA
but when some resource is editing it using PWA the project is locked in
server and manager can not modify the project.. how can i overcome this
issue.. i only need what ever notes resource submit shoud appear in outlook
and what ever notes manager places should be visible in project outlook
integration...is there a way to modify the outlook forms for project...

i like project overall but these are some nagging issues..

Hi Imran.

1. The only way to do this is to build dynamic schedules (ie ones with
minimum constraints), and then for each project, move all uncompleted tasks
to start after a date in the future. Not necessarily easy, but the only way.

2. I don't understand the Question.

3. The best way to see resource allocation is in small units of resources
(eg by Business Unit). Set up these views in Resource Utilisation (for day
to day resource utilisation views) and in Data Analysis (for longer term
demand management). Use these views in conjunction with Build team and
project views.

4. No way to modify outlook forms. Use PWA, the notes against a task
should be visible in PWA - Project Details, and there is no need for a user
to check out the project to see them.
