Hi everybody. I have some elusive problems with Project 2003, I hope some of
you have seen an solved these ones.
- When I connect to Project Server via Project Pro, using Windows
authentication, the login window hangs. Clicking on "Cancel" and retrying
solves the problem. I've read that this is caused by McAfee, but the
mentioned solutions so far are not ideal. This is just a nuisance, but it
delays task approval. Any ideas or workarounds?
- When I try to open a project from PWA (in Project Center), PWA shows an
error message that says that the selected Project(s) couldn't be opened.
However, the project opens normally... silly. I know this is also a minor
nuisance, but users get very nervous when they see an error message.
- This really is an issue: when I accept and update resource tasks updates,
Project opens as expected, but there is a message that says that the file is
missing (funny, it is already open in Project...) and Project can't find it.
As a result, tasks update fails, with its corresponding error message in PWA.
If I click again in Update (PWA), then the changes are applied as expected.
Does anybody have seen this behavior before? How is it fixed? It really slows
down approval process. The user is already not happy with the approval
process, and this just make it worst.
Finally... I know it is almost impossible, but... Is there a way to automate
the approval process? Not with rules, but something better. Even
programmatically... is it possible?
That's it. Thanks in advance for your comments.
