Some users cannot open InfoPath file from a link

I have a few InfoPath 2007 files that are:
- published as full trust administrator-approved forms
- accessed via the client
- accessed via a link, so users do not go to the published location, they
click on a link to the template

This set has been working fine except for one user (out of hundreds) who
cannot open the file via the link. I have been unable to resolve the problem
for this user, the only work around I could find was to have the user open
the file directly from the published location.

Unfortunately, today the problem started happening on my machine, same thing
I can open the file from the published location, but I can't open it via a
link. So, for example if I go to the published location, right click on the
template, click "copy shortchort" & paste the url into my browser, the form
will not open. "The form template is trying to access files and settings on
your computer. InfoPath cannot grant access to these files and settings
because the form template is not fully trusted. For a form to run with full
trust, it must be installed or digitally signed with a certificate."

So, it is NOT a full trust issue as the vast majority of users can access
the forms with no problems & even the problem users can access the form as
long as open the form directly from the Document Library where it is
published. It has to be something else - any thoughts?

I fixed the problem on my machine by uninstalling IE 8. I will have to see
if the other user experiencing the problem has IE 8 installed.

It turns out that I need to get this working in IE 8. I'm thinking that the
problem may be that I have a self-signed certificate and IE 8 doesn't like
it. Not sure though...

Anyone?

Suddenly, we are having the same problem. It started last week. Did anyone
resolved this issue.

We're still having the problem.

We're not actually using self-signed certificates. So, that is not what is
causing the problem.

I created a brand new InfoPath form, no data connections, no code behind.
Digitally signed, published full trust. Same thing - it opens with no
problems if I open it directly from the published location. It won't open
from a link. So, if I mouse over it in the published location, select view
propertities & then click on it's name it pop's up that error.

So, I haven't gotten much further on this at all...

This problem suddenly happened to me this week. I tried many of the tips
found in various posts. None worked. It was clearly a security
communication issue between my IE8 and the SharePoint installation. Two
other SP installations with InfoPath Forms Services continued to work fine.
The problem was resolved only after uninstalling IE 8. I had installed
FireFox just prior to that (which does not work with SP/IP Forms) so I had a
browser. After the reboot things were normal again. Another tidbit is that
I found out the next day that the SP installation had some sort of
server-level license expiration. And this did become apparent when using
FireFox.
