I know the address book is out there somewhere because when I try to add a
contact; it says it is a duplicate!! Help!! I also have a .csv file that is
only 3 months old. It could be restored as a last resort. How do I fdo
that?? I used Ouitlook Express previously and only recently switched to
Outlook. Obviously, a big mistake!

What version of Outlook are you using?

Since contacts are part of your PST, what symptoms are you seeing that makes
you think that your address book is gone? It's really hard to tell from what
you're saying, bear in mind I can't see what you're seeing so you have to be
pretty precise.

When did your address book go missing? Did you define the address book when
you configured Outlook? (right click on contacts > Properties > Outlook
Address Book > check box Show folder as an email Address Book.

Miscrosoft Office Outlook 2007 Version 12.0.6023.5000; MSO 12.0.6017.5000

When I try to send either a New message or REPLY to one I received and ADD
additional recipients, and therefore Click on the To or the Address book to
ADD the name , there are NO names to be selcted. None at all. If I do as
you suggest and right click for Properties, it tells me that to display
properties I must click on EXACTLY one item. Of course, there are No entries
to click on.

I have not tried searching for a PST entry since I do not know what that
means. A file extension of .csv or .wab, I understand. .Pst?

Hope this info helps.. if not send more instructions or questions.
Thanks for 1st reply. Maybe we can solve this?!

If you right-click on your Contacts folder in your folder view or on the
Outlook bar, you can scroll to properties and follow the instructions I gave
you. I don't want you to right-click on one of your contacts in the contacts
list, I want you to right click on the actual Contacts icon in your folder
list.

Here's the new question. Can the address book be displayed by LAST Name,
then 1st name as it can be in Outlook Express!!
In Outlook, all my mail address entries are displayed by FIRST name, then
last name. A real Pain!!

Thanks for previous solution on my 'missing address book. You are great.

Change the Outlook Address Book service properties. Tools>Account
Settings>Address Books. Select "Outlook Address Book", click Change.
Specify the sort order there.
