Sometimes Word sets the bottom printable margin to 2.53" - why?

Word documents print normally for a while, then Word sets the bottom
printable margin to 2.53" and refuses to print the bottom of the page (not
only the footer). Rebooting sometimes gets me back to normal, but not always.
IT has changed my computer, upgraded me to Windows XP and Word 2003, but the
problem persists. It affects only me even though I am part of a network of
users.

Any ideas of what could cause this problem????
